I have been told I have good ideas. So i decided to turn some of these ideas into something shareable. And light.
For many years now, I have been in the business of life changes. After a lot of paths and projects and a whole lot of aimless wandering, something in me wanted work in a way that wasn't so much about self-development. I mean, know that is important. But I also know now that there is a lot of beauty in things that aren't, by average standards, life-changing. One doesn't constantly have to be achieving to be important. There are a lot of smiles happening when two friends tell each other about nail polish or hairspray. Joy can be found in swapping recipes and walking path recommendations. It doesn't always have to be about making peace with your soul, even though that does sound lovely. Sometimes it's just about saying, "Damn, I love this restauarant," or "You have to get this trench coat, it's on sale!" or, "Are you checking a bag or carrying on?" Maybe what I've learned the most lately, is that life really doesn't have to be as hard as we make it, and that so much of life, as they say, is actually in the little things. The little things that, at the time, don't seem like much at all 🩶
I love to share things.
A day doesn't go by that someone doesn't say, "Hey do you know where I could find...?"
And so, when a friend of mine noticed that I seemed to have a recommendation for most every need or desire, she said, "Will you just curate my life?" I thought, "Why not? This could actually be fun!"
And so here it is. For me, it's better than something brick and mortar. It's definitely lighter than the demands of a podcast, writing a book, or getting a Ph.D! It's the lightest thing I've ever done. I also know it's a trend and that there are a gazillion others doing this same thing and that's okay. I used to feel competitive about that kind of thing, being the first and the best and all that B.S. I've been humbled enough to have grown out of that. So here I am, number gazillion-and-one.
