The Animals of Milton & Pet Stuff I Love

HI READERS!

Hello again 🩶

What a week it has been for our friends in Florida and North Carolina. It's hard to know how to help when you're not close, and so many things seem trivial when you see the tragedy that others are enduring.

This week, I wanted to share a little bit about service and giving. My son and I had the opportunity to help the Humane Society of North Texas on Friday by unloading 148 cats and dogs that came from shelters in the Tampa Bay area that were either damaged, under water, or without power. They were flown to DFW by a non-profit organization called Wings of Rescue and we helped unload them and get them to their assigned shelters.

As a professional in the clinical psychology and mental health fields, one thing that I find helps clients get out of being stuck, worried, angry, resentful, feeling shame, or feeling alone is to help someone else. This simple act of giving time is a powerful healing tool for you and those who need you. A motto I go by is, "If you don't know how to help yourself, help someone else."

And in the spirit of animals, this week all of my favorite things (below) are for our furry friends! 🐾

This site, blog, and shop are all just about fun things that I like and thoughts about life. It's about sharing stuff to love. I hope you enjoy!

P.S. - You can donate to the Humane Society of North Texas here (or better yet, volunteer your time! They need us so much!) and to Wings of Rescue here  🙏🏼

I love to share things.

A day doesn't go by that someone doesn't say, "Hey do you know where I could find...?"

So, I'll find great stuff and send it your way, cool? You can also look through my favorite finds on Instagram @sharingstufftolove or at my ShopMy store here.

Here are a few things for our precious FURRY🐾FRIENDS that I'm loving right now, or that I've recommended to friends and family this week, with descriptions below!

LET's SHARE STUFF TO LOVE! 👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼

1. Mendota Pet has the best leashes on earth. Why? Because they are so soft in your hands (they don't burn like leather does) and of course because they come in all kinds of fun colors! I like this one for Halloween 🎃

2.  Dog is Human is a relatively new brand of multivitamin for dogs. I was influenced by seeing their ads with dogs constantly itching and licking their paws, which my small Wheaten, Fergie, does all of the time. Dog is Human is a human-grade multivitamin soft chew that has 12 clinically-backed ingredients and is suitable for all dogs ages  3+ months. Let's help our pups be the healthiest they can be! Get yours here.

3.  About a month ago, I took my dogs in to have the vet assess for teeth cleaning. To my shock, she said, "They don't need their teeth cleaned, they just need some Benebones!" So 1- she saved me like $2000, and 2- my dogs love these things and 3- I can totally see it difference in their teeth! A triple score! Get your pups a Benebone now!

There you have it! Enjoy all of your new goodies! 🩶

Because it was a difficult week for so many, I am recommending my most favorite book about resilience: Unbroken.

Laura Hillenbrand, author of Seabiscuit, tells a riveting, gut-wrenching biography of a World War II prisoner of war. Louis Zamperini, a former Olympic track star who survived a plane crash in the Pacific Theater, spent 47 days drifting on a raft, and then survived more than two and a half years as a prisoner of war (POW) in three Japanese POW camps.

Unbroken spent more than four years on The New York Times best seller list, including 14 weeks at number one. It is the 5th longest-running nonfiction best seller of all time.

I cannot recommend this one highly enough. Be ready to be shocked, inspired, moved to tears, and motivated to be a way, way better person.

Rating (as if I were an expert...😂):  ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
